Six members of the Young Member/Student Affairs Committee are supporting the 1998 ESD/SME Future Cities Competition (part of National Engineers Week) by mentoring local schools.
Teams from 50 Michigan schools are competing for a chance to represent Detroit at the national competition. Each group designs a city using SimCity 2000, develops a scale model of their metropolis, and writes an essay about their expereince. Our members are serving as mentors for five local schools, providing engineering expertise to assist the students.
Our participants include:
- Nathan Clark (Clawson Middle School)
- James Eagan (Birmingham Covington School)
- Michael Readwin (Smith Middle School)
- Michael Vinarcik (St. Albert the Great)
